What was your comment about TV ? I loved it and would like to hear it again.

    • debra.rouse says:

We had several comments regarding television. Negative words increase stress hormones. Negative words stimulate fear and anxiety centers in the brain. An average of 20% increase in calories taken in results from eating in front of tv (calories typically come from less fiber, more sugar, and more fat).

If one is trying to lose alot of wait. I am surprised that one can have vinegar and whole wheat bread.
I think in terms of no yeast due to yeast infections in over weight people . Also no vinegar unless it is Braggs. What do you think . Can one lose alot of weight eating what you have posted because of the calories. Also, It seems like limiting fruit until weight is lost would be good because of all the sugar.
    What do you think ?

    • debra.rouse says:

If one has tested positive for yeast we recommend working with a practitioner on a one and one basis to come up with a plan. In general we would recommend avoiding fermented and yeasted bread products when there is a known issue involving yeast. If you are suspicious of yeast, we encourage you to substitute sprouted, yeast-free breads or choose from the gluten-free plan. Not all weight issues are due to yeast overgrowth. Individuals with yeast overgrowth usually do best to avoid fruit until the yeast problem has been cleared. For more information we recommend individuals read “The Yeast Connection” by Dr. William Crook.

That was great last night. Are you going to post the presentation on the web site?

  4. Cindy says:

When will you post your slides from last night? It was a great presentation and very informative.

  5. Kumar says:

Thank you, Debra and James! That was very empowering last night. So many great nuggets. I especially liked the Primary foods vs. Secondary foods section. I am also getting great insights about my limited cooking habits, and how much shopping, preparing, and eating wholesome food is about self- love.

    • debra.rouse says:

Thank you Kumar. It truly is about loving ourselves enough and knowing that we ARE deserving and it is not a selfish act.

  6. Lynn says:

Hi….I am not on Facebook, even if the rest of the world seems to be, so am looking forward to your posting the slides here on the blog. Thank you! Lynn

OMG! It’s like you understand my mind! You seem to know so much about this, just like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, besides that, this is great blog. A outstanding read. I’l
